Imam Mahdi (as) and Jesus (pbuh) together will create the greatest reprochement between Muslims, Jews and Christians and establish the ground rules that will last until Judgment Day and bring peace for ever in our belief.
I wish to make these points to those among the Christians and Jewish folks who may not realize the role of the Mahdi in World affairs from an ethical and justice stand point. Muslims already perhaps know them.
The great grandfather of Imam Mahdi(as), our Prophet Mohammad (sa) introduced millions of people and many nations starting with his own nation to the great ones of Israel including Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus, to the point that a Muslim does not take their name in a formal setting without blessing them.
It is basic courtesy for Jesus to teach the same respect to our Prophet and his children until Imam Mahdi. It is clear that both Jews and Christians were stuck on this side of ancient Persia for six hundred years and neither the Christians nor the Jews were able to bring the message or names of the grand Prophets of Israel to the rest of the World. When our Prophet came, within one hundred years everyone all the way to Philipines were introduced to Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus as men worthy of respecting and loving and honoring. Now none of these folks were in the ancestors of the Prophet of Islam.
In contrast, the Prophet of Islam not only did not put the religion of his own ancestors on a pedestal, but totally eradicated the religion of the Pre-Islamic Arabs, which is really a grand miracle if you think about it. Consider how Bush with all his tools of war is bogged down in Iraq. Look at Israel how it can not even turn a small band of Arabs, the Palestinians even after fifty years of trying.
Those who say that Prophet Mohammad did that through his own means are insulting God too, as they are saying a false Prophet can establish a false religion and God can do nothing to stop him, when George Bush or Sharon can not even establish their "true ways of life" (sic) on little parts of the Arab polity.
Once this is understood you will also understand why Jesus will pray behind Imam Mahdi and teach Christians and Jews to accept Prophet Mohammad. The Prophet taught Muslims to respect and honor Jesus and it is basic deceny that the children of Isaac will pay their dues to the Prophet of Islam, who established the great ones of Israel across the Eastern World!!
I hope this makes sense. Think about it this way. If someone was trying to accomplish a task (spreading christianity/Judaism) to other nations for centuries without success, and then someone comes along (with no Worldly resources mind you!!) and helps them and introduces millions to your faiths, your books, your prophets and your god at great expense to his own relatives, tribe and nation, would you not at least appreciate such a person?
I believe Jesus is a decent man, so he will accept this reality and pay his homage to the Prophet of Islam and his heirs who sacrificed a lot to introduce Jesus and his ancestors to millions.
I hope this makes sense.

Faty B,
There's no need to wait for the mahdi to re-appear. Jesus Christ has already came to earth just for Faty B. Imagine that. He would have come to this earth to die for the sins of just you, even if you were the only one here. We have separated ourselves from God and there is a penalty for that separation. Jesus Christ paid the penalty. This invitation to know the true Savior is open to you.

He is the one , that we are all waiting for.
He is beloved and the leader.
When he comes , there is no injustice , no discrimination. there will be no poor. every body will be equal to others.
If you see , every religion believe in his return , the names might be different , but every body is waiting for him.
May Allah keeps us followers of his way. Peace be upon him.
