people will tell you that there are such things as "toy" chihuahuas or teacup. But there aren't. they are all they same they are just different sizes. my vet told me that they can get up to 15 pounds. my chihuahua weighs 8 pounds and he has the long legs and long neck which people will tell you is the "deer" type and there is also no such thing. there isnt anyway to tell really. don't listen to anyone who tell you those type of chihuahuas exist because they don't know what they are talking about. you should ask a vet for any further questions. And because they are such small animals they really nee to see a vet it is very important

This is the AKC standard for Chihuahuas http://www.akc.org/breeds/chihuahua/index.cfm

Note the disqualification - dogs weighing over 6lbs.

There's no such thing as a 'toy' or 'teacup' chi. Chi's belong to the "toy group" of AKC breeds. But if he's a Chi then he should grow up to be 6lbs or less.

There are two types of chihuahuas - long hair and short hair. Size is due to breeding and is not a breed in itself. Mine weighs 3 lbs and is a short hair chihuahua
