My new Porsche Cayenne was hit by a housewife in a big suburban. I need to get my car fixed right away because I need to drive my clients around in it. Also I was hurt. She says she can't pay for it because she is going through a divorce. She dosn't even work!! She told me she can't pay for it now, and to please not report it, but I have a right to have my car fixed ASAP, it's not my fault she chooses not to have a job and chooses to be a stay at home mom. She needs to fix my car. What should I do? Can I sue her? I don't feel sorry for her one bit.

Call the police. She has a obligation to pay for you car. She needs to get a job if she dosn't have any money. Being a stay at mom is NO excuse to tha law.

I was a housewife for about a year before i went crazy. So i got a divorce and a new man (because i wasn't able to leave to house unless he said so). So now I happily work at an office man its great!!! To have freedom!!! I get a break from my daughter and the house while making money. Don't get me wrong being a house wive in another situation it would have been better.

You need to report it and file a police report. Someone's insurance will fix it; if she doesn't have insurance, then that's her fault.

Keep in mind, though, that some jurisdictions will not take a report unless both people are still present at the scene of the accident. You might not be able to file one at all, in which case you won't be able to get money from her insurance company.

Do what you need to do; she should take responsiblity for her actions. Of course, this becomes stickier if this is a close personal friend of yours that we're talking about.

I don't understand why her employment status strikes such a chord with you. I am also a SAHM but my insurance will pay for any accidents I cause. You should stick to the facts and leave personal opinions about people who choose to not work out of the original question.

She does legally have to fix your car, or her insurance has to pay for it. Working or not has nothing to do with it.

was there a police report done?If so then pick that up and take it to your local courthouse, and sue her. i am going through the same situation right now. Also if there wasnt one, then if you have her information, DL # then take it down to the DMV and they will put it on her driving record...at least if she trys to get insurance, it will ne higher and she'll end up paying that way!

report it first to the police and get a police report. im not sure what state your in but her insurance company should pay for the damages. but you have to report it. then if the insurance company doesnt pay then you can sue her. but then she can declare bankruptcy after you sue her so you still would have to pay for it. use your insurance company to pay for and pay the deductable and go after her.

What you should do, is claim it on insurance, whether it be hers or yours! You shouldn't be calling her, she could get you for harrassment. Try to have a little heart. She is trying to take care of her family and go through a divorce.

You don;t have to sue. You can make a police report, and then claim from her car insurance.
