It's safe if you do the right things. First don't be downloading files you don't know. I have antivirus protection so I'm fine. Also after you've downloaded a file, don't open it immediatedly. Scan it with your antivirus for viruses and other stuff. These may seem a hassle but I'd rather have a computer that virus free. Those people who say it not safe just don't take precausions and just download anything....oh and before you download something, look at its file size. Make sure its file size is relative to what you're downloading. songs are about a couple megabytes...don't download songs that only a couple of kilobytes...they're fake. Or and don't download software that's less than a megabyte....they're fake and may have viruses.

No, it's p2p sharing and as stated elsewhere, it's mine-field of trogans and adware. If you're a newbie , and don't know how to configure the settings in,Limewire, you may have problems. Also, if you have Limewire installed and run Spy-bot or even,Yahoo,
anti-spy, Limewire, will come up as adware and will be removed if you don't white-list it. Another thing, Limewire is full of kiddie-porn and as a result, if you're not running a proxy, you can bet that your' I.P. is being logged by the, MAN. Not a good thing.
I just read some of the other responses and they are right..IF..you configure it NOT to share files ,it's ok, I still use it for music and some vids ... BUT, I also run a proxy-server whenever I go there.

Yes. It's much better and easier than Kazaa or anything else. Also look into Frostwire, an offshoot of Limewire, as it is much faster even than Limewire, but by the same people.

The program is safe if you get it from the source, but whatever else you download may not be.
