There is a man(www.thebibleletter.com) who is trying to get a petition signed, he has around 3,000 signatures, that would get Wal-Mart to take The Holy Bible off ot their book shelves. The reason being is that the bible condones killing of anyone working on Sunday, homosexuals, childred that disobey their parents, and it also condones not only slavery but the beating of slaves. Personally, I flush better stuff than this guys opinion down my toilet every day. What do you think?

I agree the guy's an idiot. This is America the land of the free. We all get to say what we want and worship who we want. When someone like that starts picking and choosing what he thinks we as Americans and Christians should and should not have we no longer live in a free country. Plus I am a Christian and I believe in the Bible and The Trinity, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He can try to expel all of the Bible and it's contents but there are those of us that it will not change what we believe in. We will always be Christians and believe in God and the Bible no matter what the idiot(s) say.

Yeah, you're so much better than someone with a different opinion!
I'd sign his petition just because I can't stand how you worded your question. High horse much?
Walmart won't sell other things with questionable content. It makes sense to me that the bible, which has alot of questionable content is in a place where not everyone wants it sold there.
Walmart sucks anyway. They won't sell anything with some nudity or swearing but they'll sell knives and guns. Makes no sense to me.

It's just a fictional book. There are many fictional books that condone much worse things. The Bible should not be taken seriously and should be put in the fiction section. That would solve the problem right there.

You're talking about this country, right? Where we have freedoms protected by law? (Hopefully).
Well then, he has the freedom to shop wherever he would like, and as the Bible is the biggest selling book ever, I think he'll have a hard time finding somewhere that doesn't carry it if they have any books at all. And tell me this - the Bible is history, right? The repercussions because you don't like something in it and want it out are astounding!
What next? Don't stay at this hotel because of what they leave in the drawer? Oops...don't want to give anyone ideas.
On the other hand, the beauty of our country is he is allowed to waste his time and energy if that's his wish.

For god sakes they better not. And given WAl Mart was started by a Christian, I don't think they will. However, I think wal mart has become evil now with the low wages and exploitation. I don't like the power they have over manufacturers like Rubbermaid or Fuji either.

The literature isn't the problem, it's the belief. A better idea would be to arrest preachers for promoting the actions dictated by the Bible. I would expect to get arrested if I rounded up a bunch of men, women and children and told them to act like Flowers in the Attic.

Of course, all that stuff is in the Bible (read the Old Testament Mosaic laws), but to take it off the shelves is a form of censorship, and that is clearly against the first amendment.
Now why sleazy magazines are better, I have no idea.

The Bible doesn't condone killing people who work on Sunday friend.
It condemned people working on the Sabbath, which is the 7th day of the week not the first.

I think he'd clog mine (my home wouldn't be holy then, would it?).
His reasoning's a bit off the mark, but then, someone trying to get Wal-Mart to take ANYTHING off their shelves is fighting a losing battle.

Well they wouldn't sell any other book that condoned or promoted that kind of thing...so what's the problem. Sounds like legitimate grounds to me. Only logical.
