Mind, Body & Spirit.

We are souls who have taken up temporary residence in a body.

Our identity is spirit soul, that is our eternal nature. The body is temporary and we are eternal. We are part of the spiritual energy of the Lord, but we are now in material bodies due to our desire to try to enjoy life without serving the Lord. To fulfill that desire, we are put into the material world and we are covered by material bodies. We have two material bodies -- the gross body made of earth, water, fire, air and ether and the subtle body of mind, intelligence and false ego. As a consequence of our bodily coverings, we think the body is our identity and we have forgotten our spiritual nature. This mistaken identity is the cause of so much suffering in this world, both individually and collectively. Until we understand our real identity, we can't understand what is the purpose of our life and we don't know how to become happy. We are the souls that live in human bodies. We are made of the same energy that all living things are made of. That energy is what some call God.

The only parts verified by science are the body and dust parts. The soul still remains a myth.

We are PERSONS. The person is not the soul or the body. The soul and the body are attributes of the person - they belong to the person, but they are not the person. The person is a deeper mystery of God's creation, and in fact is the highest mystery of God's creation, since our personhood is in the image of God and gives us the potential to become like Him.

THERE'S NOTHING MAGICAL ABOUT THE WAY OUR BRAINS FUNCTION. THIS ISN'T THE 16TH CENTURY; WE KNOW HOW ORGANS WORK, SEPERATELY AND TOGETHER. THE WORD SOUL IS JUST THAT, A WORD. HUMANS ARE MOST DEFINATELY MORE THAN THE SUM OF OUR PARTS, BUT DOES THAT MAKE US DEVINE? SPECIAL MAYBE, BUT NOT DEVINE. IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO STUDY THE PROCESS THAT LED US TO THE MODERN MAN, YOU MAY FIND SOME OF THE "MYSTICAL" FEELINGS YOU HAVE TOWARD IT, DISAPPEAR.

None of the above.

We are biologic organism.

And like all biologic organisms we have no soul.

Btw, it is christian mythology that claims humans were created magically from dust, not any scientific theory I have ever heard. Try getting your facts straight.

Our soul lives inside our body; it is our spirit.

Both are gifts from God.
