I lucid dream all the time. The only problem I have is being able to dream what I want to dream before I go to sleep. I can't say I am going to dream of doing this and have it happen. I end up dreaming something else and then just have to work with that. How do I get myself to dream what I want before I start dreaming?

You can look into dream spinning; it helps change the dream scene as well as clarifies it. Other ways to change the scenes are to walk through a door or go around a corner with intent set on what you want. Do be careful. It's common to lose lucidity when you do it. And don't give up after only one try; sometimes it's takes a few tries.

If you are Lucid Dreaming you should be able to manipulate the content of your dreams.

You have to REALLY REALLY want it - you need to concentrate and really tell yourself what you're going to dream about.
And keep a regular bedtime routine - it helps you focus.

It's different for different people. I just had to practice at it and it finally did what I wanted.
