When Lucifer was created he was perfect and of a very high rank. He and all the angels have free will, but it wasn't until mankind was created that jealousy grew in him. Yes God knew this would happen. Just as he knew Adam would succumb to Eve's deception. Why did He let it happen and why didn't He prevent it? Because it is for our ultimate good. Just as any parent who has warned their child the consequences of doing this or that--they know they are going to do it and they hope that when they do do it they learn a very valuable lesson. We learn by different methods. 1) instruction, 2) experience and 3) by other's experience. There would be no need for a job of salvation without an adversary (opposer). It was Satan that put thoughts in Eve's head, she was a mere child. We don't know how long Adam was in the garden before Eve was created and we don't know how long she was there before she ate the fruit. You could reason Lucifer sinned with no outside influence, so eventually some human would have too. Yes, that is possible and more than likely probable. But that isn't how it happened, and the way it happened was the most economical. All are sinners because of Adam's transgression. Therefore Jesus only had to die for Adam to fix the problem. The word "ransom" means corresponding price" First Adam for the Second Adam, "as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive.' By your statement "Satan in the end times", I am guessing your are talking about Revelation when he is loosed in the little season and goes out to deceive the nations. This actually isn't the end times. But it is the end of the Millennium--which is the End of the Kingdom, End of the Reign of Christ (Jesus and Bride). At the end of Jacob's Trouble (Jer. 30, Eze, 38,39, Zech 12, 14) Satan is bound for the Millennium. At the binding of Satan is the beginning of the reign of Jesus over the world as King and priest. During that time, mankind will have been resurrected (all the way back to Adam) and brought to a perfect knowledge of God. Resurrection is more than an awakening, but implies a full standing--that is brought to perfection. It is also called the "times of restitution of all things", which is a restitution of all that Adam lost. So mankind will be brought back to a condition that Adam was when he fell, with one difference--they will have experience. Satan is incorrigible, he will never turn back to God, but he will be allowed to give the resurrected mankind one last test, so that all can see the manifestation of his sin as well as those who are like him. Will it be half of the world? I don't think so, but it will be a large number. And you have to remember the total number is of all who have ever lived, not the 7 billion on the planet now. At the end of the Little season, the 7th creative day will be over and God will declare it good, because all who live on will not only be perfect in the flesh but in heart as well. Those that follow Satan will be destroyed with no hope of a resurrection--that is the second death.

There are a million and one answers to this simply by looking at a lot of religious sites off of google, and no matter the faith, they tend to run along the same lines.

God sent down temptation, so that He may seperate the good from the sinners. Also, just like you'd never know what it feels like to be full without being hungry, the world needs a balance of "evil" so that being good is a choice, not just a natural condition.

You need to move on up to the New Testament and keep with the times. God doesn't let him run amok, you do. Satan travels where people allow him to. Unbelievers (those who willfully reject Christ) allow him free course in their lives. That's why we get to hear him run his big fat mouth through ungodly people in the religion and spirituality category.

"because...the devil walks about as a roaring lion (making a lot of noise), seeking those that will allow him to devour them" (I Peter 5:8)

Why not just say the Devil instead of using many of his names?
And Satain or beelzebub or Belial or Lucifer, or Mephistopheles, the Devil is the God of this world. It is his world, you don't like it talk to him!

You have to understand the more basic things about God before you try and decipher the more complex things.

I find it interesting that god is blamed for the bad things that happen but when it comes to good things god doesn't exist or isn't credited.

Funny how god is responsible for all the bad things but not for the good things...

Who says you get to determine how God should behave anyway?

If we knew how or why He did things that way, WE would be God. But we aren't so we don't.

Part of what we must endure because of the fall of man in the Garden. Our own fault, fight the good fight, endure the race and be counted faithful when He returns.
