Just work really really hard, and stay committed. Pick a sensible diet and stick to it. Exercise every day.
My brother weighed 300 pounds, and got down to 150. He wanted to be a patrolman, and you have to be at your recommended body weight to get into the academy. So he did it.
Find a goal to work toward. It doesn't have to be a big life changing goal. Say by next year, I want to be in a pair of gap jeans.
I know how you feel. I've struggled with this my whole life.

Listen: you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Good luck and stick at it.

Hi Hon! I feel for you, I truly do. I was in your shoes several years ago and I had gastric bypass surgery. But I didn't learn the proper lifestyle to maintain my 120 lb weight loss and have regained 60 lbs.
I am now on the road to losing again and I am using a wonderful free website. I just discovered it (through a YA answer) a couple of weeks ago) and have already lost 8 lbs. It has many helpful tips and tools, like an online food and exercise tracker, as well as chatting with others for support.

Bottom line, the only way to do it is to eat less calories than you burn.
Tracking your food intake will REALLY make you aware of your mindless eating and think twice about what you put in your mouth and you will be more apt to make smarter, healthier choices.
Best of luck!

My best suggestion would be not to go into a strict diet immediately. It's not healthy.
Why don't you try this? Example: you eat a total of 10 pounds of food per day. you usually eat the amount in 3 big meals, right?
Why not eat the total amount in 5-6 small meals, spaced 1-2 hours in between? that way you still eat total amount but now you could better control the amount you eat per meal.
so if you want to become slimmer, you just have to gradually decrease the amount you eat per meal. you don't have to decrease the total amount immediately. per meal only.
so what you can do is to eat bigger during the day, smaller during dinner. eventually eating a smaller portion for every meal.
what this does is that you will always feel full, because you just had you meal an hour ago. there will even be a time where you don't even want to eat for a particular meal because you're still full. so eventually you will eat less, and better you will start to lose weight gradually.
Good Luck!

Ask yourself why you reach for food when you are going through different emotional times. I think everyone knows how to eat right. It's just that we're using it as a comfort and disregarding the health problems we are causing ourselves. Whenever you're reaching for something to eat think about if you're really hungry or if it's an emotional dependance. Deal with it like an addiction would be a good way. And get out walking more.

Well it is not going to just come off miraculously. You have to change your eating habits and exercise regularly. You shouldn't just want to lose the weight, if this really bothers you then you need to make a permanent lifestyle change. How bad do you want it?
