I'm sorry you are hurting so badly. Call your doctor tomorrow and make an appointment to get a prescription for another antidepressent. There are so many new medicines and there is one that will be right for you. It will take a few weeks for the new medicine to work so, in the meantime, try your best to be around other people (family, co-workers, friends from school, a support group). I'm almost sure there is a "Depression for Dummies" book available. These "Dummies" books are written so that it is easy to understand and identify your symptoms, show you that you are not the only one in the world who has felt like this, and may suggest other available and alternate treatments.

What is important to me about your message is that you sent it. You are seeking help and support and that is a good thing. Spend time with friends and don't hesitate to talk to them about your feelings of depression. You will really be surprised how many people you know who are also being treated (successfully) for depression.

The other important thing to remember is that depression is a recognized condition by the medical community and that, most often, it is an inherited condition, not something you did or didn't do that has caused you to feel this way.

Call that doctor tomorrow and keep moving forward to the path of feeling better. I wish you wellness in your future

Being lonely and sad is a terrible feeling. You need to try to pull
yourself up by the bootstraps and move forward. Here are some
things to do to help you:
1. Look for a job that will occupy most of your time.
2. Try to make some new friends that you can do things with.
3. Join a bowling league, book club, homemakers club.
4. Volunteer somewhere (hospital, food bank,) look in your
newspaper for ideas.
5. Join the "Y" or an exercise group, swim group locally.
6. Watch the 700 Club on tv
7. Go to church where people want to help you.
8. SIgn up with a travel group..you'll meet new friends
and enjoy seeing the country.
9. Read uplifting books, Christian books, or funny books.
10. Do something for someone else....it always makes me feel
a lot better
I know some of these steps will help you come alive again.
Good luck and God Bless.

I feel depressed sometimes too. It is a natural part of life. You are not alone, dont worry, everyone has someone. There is most likely someone so special in your life but you just dont realize how important you are to them and how improtant they are too you. Without you, they wouldnt be able to continue life.

Also, try picking up a hobby. It can be a great way to make new friends and can also take your mind off of sad things when you're feeling down. My hobby is music, I am in marching band and I have made some really great friends that will last a long time and I have so much fun doing it.

Try painting or drawing to open up your creative side. Maybe take some classes.
Start attending a church. Get to know some of those attending.
You could get a bird, cat or a small dog for companionship.
Yes life can be a scary place. Where is your family?
I will pray for you that you will want to go on living and enjoy life.
You can write me if you'd like to talk.

You should change medicines if it dulls your senses. Zoloft works for me.

Maybe try a med change?! I know my senses were not dulled with every antidepressant I have tried. The concept of fake it til you make it may help you win your life back. Loneliness is not fun, is it? I am sorry and I hope you feel better.

aren't you more afraid of dying? i know this sounds bad, but think of how fortunate you are compared to other people around the world, find things that make you happy and that you can be grateful for. maybe you need to switch the antidepressants. i take it you're seeing a psychiatrist? hopefully he's also prescribing that you go to therapy at least once a week also.
i know that when i make lists, it motivates me to get out of bed and do things.. you should try it! if your life is empty, then try to get involved in extracurricular activities. find a club that suits your interests. if you can't find them in your community, look for them online.

good luck... and don't be sad!

I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. What antidepressants have you tried? For me, Zoloft was a life saver. Remember also, meds take LOTS of time.. you gotta get the right dosage, the right med, and everything. My Zoloft took a year. No joke. Good luck

I can relate to that quite often.

Drugs are not the answer. GOD is not the answer.

I'm currently not depressed. If I were, I'd have a lot more interesting things to say pertaining to depression, suicidal tendencies, and that horrible, excruciating emotional pain.

If you want to talk e-mail me at dioddefwr@yahoo.com. I might have some interesting things to give you a nice, perhaps even more hopeful perspective... or what I would say might make you kill yourself.
