I live in NJ, I've had my provisonal license for two weeks and i received a ticket for violating the provisonal license by driving with more than one passenger. When I go to court, I will probably only have to pay a fine, but do you know if the judge will ask why I got pulled over in the first place since driving with more than one person does not mandate being pulled over? The reason i ask is that i told my mom i got pulle dover for my tailight being out but really i was speeding but the cop didnt ticket me for that.

If an attorney could accurately predict in advance what a judge will say or how the jugde would rule, they would be a billionaire.

The judge will act based on the ticket and what it charges. Other than that, and the fact that the judge will want you to explain your actions, it's impossible to predict in the abstract how a judge will rule.

What the judge decides is totally up to the state and local laws. You could pay a large fine and also lose your license for a period of time. I hope you learn from this, not only have you broken the law by speeding and having more than one passenger in your vehicle, but you have lied to your mother on top of this. This is not your most shining moment in your life, is it?? If the judge does ask, make sure you answer truthfully, or you may be given some probation or jail time on top of everything else. Good luck.

This truly depends on the Judge, but one thing that will help is to tell the truth. You should not have lied to your mother either, because lying just gets you in more trouble in the long run. Good Luck :D
