I weigh 125 and am 5'6". I eat approx 1700 calories a day at the most, but always try to walk daily. Sometimes that can be hard with inclement weather and having a little boy on top of working full time and going to school. Sitting at a desk all day makes it very easy to snack. Should I be worried about weight gain with a daily calorie intake of 1700? Fat grams about 20-25?

First of all you're doing really well. I know how difficult it is to get the exercise in with all that you do. If you're exercising all the time 1700 is ok, but because you aren't able to I would cut it back to 1500. The exercise is really going to be key for you because of your desk job, it'll make you feel alot better, work off stress, and help you sleep better too. Try to do it and be consistent no matter what! Be committed and go for it! Maybe try to find something you can do inside on those days for a workout. You can find great dvd's now for kickboxing, aerobics, tae bo and they're good workouts too........

For an individual your size, 1700 calories should be just about perfect. Not too much, not too little. If you are not gaining weight, or losing weight, you are fine.

that is a reasonable amount of calories per day, you must set your daily diet based in a range between 1700 and 2200 calories.
