I agree that it is a personal responsibility to maintain a healthy body. It is a documented fact that thin people also have health problems just as the obese or overweight do. Obesity causes or aggravates other medical conditions. Obesity effects everyone, not just the obese. Obesity costs everyone in health care costs, loss of productivity, etc... It is up to everyone to help out with this issue.

why do you have a responsibility to other people to reduce your weight??? if its for yourself then that just depends on how you look at it if your happy in your body then who cares. but could you help me understand why you would have responsibility to other people to change your body??

I disagree
but then, I am not overweight right now
if I were overweight enough to affect my health, then losing weight would be one of the responsibilities I owed my family

You don't have a responsibility to no one except yourself and only to your health the hell with other people.

disagree...if you're comfortable with your body, more power to you...fat is a good thing...none is gross.
however, if you are obese and your health is at risk, then yes, you have a responsibility to yourself (if you want to live longer).
and I think if you're overweight you have a responsibility to wear clothes that cover, not...you know what I mean...

Because their lives will be enriched by my smaller butt? No. If I have social responsibility to get a smaller butt, others have a responsibility to kiss it.
