I'm constantly dehydrated, but always drinking water. I need a way to eat more salt, but I hate potato chips. Are there any other foods fairly high in sodium? (Never thought I'd be asking for a high-sodium food, but I just don't seem to eat salt, really.)

My diet is very rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, so I don't eat (nor do I really enjoy) high fat, high sodium foods. The reason I need sodium is because there is nothing to absorb all the water I drink, so it just goes right through me, making me dehydrated. I'm not stupid, so I'm not going to gorge myself on junk food. I merely wanted better alternatives to potato chips, which I hate.

Soups are very high in sodium. Pretzels, peanuts, tortilla chips, and a lot of snack crackers are also. Maybe just start adding a little salt to your food. But check out the soups. Progresso soups are really high. Like 800 mg.

Being dehydrated and eating more salt doesn't make any sense. If you're already thirsty, wait until you start eating more salty foods! According to the research you're probably already getting too much salt. It's in everything! This is not what you need. You may be lacking in some kind of nutrient or vitamin, do you take daily vitamins, how is your diet?
You can go to your search engine and type in "how much salt do I need" and you can see what I mean.

Drink some vitaminwater or other electrolyte enhanced drink. Avoid the unhealthy salty foods if you can :)

You can also season your food with sea salt :) yum!
