The answer is not so simple. As you cannot provide all of the information relative to your condition,(age, weight, etc.) this question cannot be answered on this forum. The best answer would come from your family doctor. He/she would know the correct questions to ask you, and determine the correct diagnosis to your problem(s). From what you've provided here, the best answer would be, 'no answer.'

gas...seriously...
have some one pat you on the back until you burp...or pat your chest and stomach a little.
Gas pains have lead to many expensive doctor visits.
If the pain is accompanied by other symptoms that are more heart attack like, definately seek immediate attention.

May be it's gastro-oesophageal reflux disease that causes heart burn referred to the back & is retrosternal,May be it's something else ,so u have to see a doctor to decide on proper investigation & plan of therapy.

Possibly angina? Or however it's spelled. I'm not really sure what it is though, but I know it's chest pain.
