Usually the easiest way to figure out why your body does stuff like this is to keep a journal.

For a few weeks, write down what you eat, when you go to bed, how you sleep and how long you sleep. Keep track of anything else unusual that you do (drink a six pack before hitting the sack, etc.)

Keep track of other symptoms (stuffy nose, snoring, etc).

After two weeks, see if there is a pattern. Sometimes morning headaches can be caused by sinusitis, allergies, or some environmental reason.

A long shot would be sleep apnea, or another serious problem with getting enough oxygen to your brain. I knew someone who had a similar problem, and finally figured out they were actually pulling the covers and a pillow over their head during sleep - it reduced the o2 and caused a headache and dizziness.

If you can't find a simple solution - then you really should see a doctor. They'll do an MRI to be sure it's nothing like a tumor, then start looking at other possible causes.

You may have TMD (temporo-mandibular disorder, also called TMJ). Have a dentist check your teeth for excessive wear; that would be a tell-tale sign that you're clenching or grinding your teeth at night while you sleep, which is classic for TMD sufferers.
There are "bite plates" you can wear at night to keep your jaw/teeth in a healthier position. Also, avoid really chewy food, like gum or bagels.

Well you can take a test before you're late but only about 5 days before and it sounds like you have at least 10 days before you're period is due. Do you know when you ovulated? These could be pregnancy symptoms or just wishful thinking.

i usually get that too, the reasons i came up with were 1) i drink lots of mountain dew so the vessels in my brain are dialating, 2) i fell asleep while straining one of the muscles that insert into my neck/head, 3) dehydration, you have less volume in your vessels so your blood pressure increases, causing dilitation as mentioned in #1. so if u have my problems, stop drinking caffeine, get a new pillow, and drink more water during the day :o)

It is because you did not rest while you were asleep.

It could be the pillow you are sleeping on.
