You can thank the ACLU for that.

Muslims have a religious requirement to pray multiple times a day, in a specific manner. Other religions that have specific requirements are, typically, granted similar accomodations, as long as they are within reason and not an undue burden. After all, the standard work week, with the two-day weekend, is a product of the Judeo-Christian rules concerning the Sabbath.
If you look around you, the Christian voice has not been silenced - it's alive and just as loud as ever. What you're experiencing is that others are finding their voice. It may seem threatening, because, for quite some time, Christianity was the primary voice, with everything else a mere whisper. It can be confusing to see a change to the status quo. But for the most part, they aren't trying to silence Christianity - rather, just be able to have an equal footing, with equal respect and accomodations.

Oh! Poor baby, you are being persecuted.=(
OPEN YOUR MIND! A whole different world is waiting.
My guess is that most schools do not allow any logos, lewd writing, pictures or controversial designs on t-shirts, sweatshirts etc... As for not allowing you to bring a bible to school, maybe they do not allow it because too many people are preaching and waving it around the corridors. Keep it in your book bag instead off out. You HEARD, that people would not graduate if they do not learn the laws of Islam, that's the thing, HEARD, no proof, no good.
No worse than christian groups attracting and brainwashing lonely and vulnerable people to their so called bible study groups.

Why are we surprised by this? The Bible tells us that this will happen as we get closer and closer to the end of this time. I am not saying we are in the last days, but each day brings us closer. The closer we get, the more the things of Matthew chapter 24 will be obvious. This is what God has said will happen. That does not mean that we sit back and do nothing. ON the contrary, we must do all the more to be sure that we are fulfilling the duties given to us and being sure that people are hearing the truth from us, because they won't get it anywhere else. The more the Christian voice in public is silenced, the more responsiblity we have in our private lives to make sure that the truth of Christ is spoken and heard.

The christian voice has not been silenced, but I'm getting real sick and tired of it trying to silence everyone else!
It is not illegal for you to pray in school (regardless of religious belief), provided you aren't disrupting class. First Amendment does apply to that, and don't let any nutcase tell you otherwise.
And It's not gonna kill a kid to learn about other's faiths. If they are such as strong christian, they will not stray from their faith. I think what you fear is that kids will learn that there are other options out there and *gasp* CHOOSE FOR THEMSELVES!
Freedom of Religion, what a beautiful right......

I have no idea what you're talking about (Some links to sources backing up your claims would be nice). I was taught bible stories in my public school english class. I was never taught about any other religions ever in school. We did Adam and Eve, Noahs ark, and a couple others in a very VERY brief mythology stint in 10th grade english.
I'm confused by what you want. If Christianity is allowed in schools, you HAVE to allow for others to be taught/accepted as well. If you want to phase out anything to do with Islam, then you have to phase out all parts of Christianity too. Either all or none, you can't pick and choose the one or two you believe in.

I don't know. I'm muslim myself. I live in the Uk and know how you feel. Not all muslims are bad. Not all muslims are like so extreme.
I believe in the saying "When in rome, do as the romans do"....if you want to be treated as a muslim , go to saudi arabia.
It's just peer pressure on the government, they're not strong enough. It's just the way kids are being brought up, they should be taught the values of where they live. England, America....whilst also learning about Islam. Islam is not a threatening religion beleive me, it's all about peace, but just some lunatics give it a bad name.

The Christian voice has not been silenced.
If nothing else, there are some people in this country who are trying to find a way to co-exist peacefully with everyone despite their differing viewpoints. They accept that there are some people who wish to worship in certain ways and they're trying to provide an avenue for that to occur without trampling on the rights and beliefs of others.

California is a country unto itself, to say the least.
If think once a few Christian parents start regurgitating the ACLU's "Separation of Church & State" arguments, those schools' policies will quickly revert back to equal opportunities for all the students.
You're right, though. It makes a HUGE difference when Athiests, Agnostics, or Universalists get voted into office.
Not only should Christians be active in voting & supporting Christian candidates, they shoould run for office when given the opportunity.

Well, I dunno where that is happening. But where I am, the kids are allowed to wear Christian clothing, crosses, carry bibles, etc... Now, I do know of some schools that are showing the differences in the mainstream religions. But they are doing this without representing one over another (or, are supposed to do it that way...). It is to help everyone understand one another. Though, I don't agree with having any religion in public schools, I don't see anything wrong with explaining the differences when compared to one another to help kids understand. Now as far as wearing the symbols of one's faith, the pagan kids here aren't allowed to wear symbols of theirs.
And the "Christian voice" has hardly been silenced. We "heard" you, didn't we?

Christian voice is not been silenced. It was meant to be like this because christians forgot the true teachings of christ, and start calling him the son of God, which is against the universal truth that says that God is alone and his unity cannot be compromised by the notions that christianity is promoting. For the truth seekers i am suggesting a web site called www.alislam.org
