It takes lot of energy to deal with life's problems.

You have ran out of the ability to cope with troubling issues, thus you have no coping skills.

To get these skills you must see a professional psychiatrist or psychologist. You want to sleep because then you are not thinking about the problem and it disappears when you are asleep. Right?

drinking will only exacerbate the problem....you are trying to numb your senses...so many here are in the same boat...i am sorry to tell you...only therapy and meds will help you.

I have the same feelings when I have a huge dillemma/decision or a lot of work to face that seems impossible. This is usually either due to procrastination or simply the cause of procrastination. I am discouraged so I don't have the balls to take it on. This is the wrong attitude however, because problems or work must be faced head on and without weakness so that we can get it over with. I don't know if this is your case, but maybe you feel inadequate in terms of being able to accomplish a task or being able to overcome some type of social dillemma (apologizing, making new friends, starting conversations, breaking up with someone). Whatever it is, giving in to your feelings both makes the internal feelings worse and the external problem more and more difficult to overcome.

You are depressed. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain. You need medications to help balance it. Do not let anyone tell you to just force yourself to get out and do things. These are the people who have not experienced depression. It cripples you. It causes both physical and mental pain. Get to a psychiatrist now. Have someone else make the phone call for you if you just can not make yourself call. Unfortunately Depression itself can prevent you from making that lifesaving call. Above all, DO NOT DRINK! We call this self medicating. The problem with this is that you feelings and symptoms are still there they are just masked for a little while and you are compounding the problem with an addiction. Make that call and let me know how it goes.

Get a physical first and make sure every thing is okay. Talk with your doctor about your feelings. Counseling might help you,
at least you'll find out why you are feeling isolated. Check out
community projects and consider joining and helping out. This
will allow you to meet people and make friends. Good luck.

Well if you are drinking a lot ot may be causing depression. Or the depression may be cauing the drinking. Sort of the chicken/egg thing. Either way you need professional help because you have gotten yourself intoa viscious circle that will just get tighter.

You are causing your feeling of isolation! You should get out and do more things. Drinking just compounds you problems. Go to the doctor and seek help, unless you are not really ready. Only you can get you out of that hole that you are in.

Because you feel unworthy...and won't let anyone accept you? Or do you cling to the point of irritation? Only you know... Try helping others like the homeless or the food bank etc...People will truly appreciate your abilities!!! Good luck!
