It's not legal in most cities/towns to ride your skateboards on the streets or sidewalks. The choice is yours but your son will suffer the consequences.

It seems like he doesn't think like a 32 year old. And your his decision maker. Just remember, if he kills himself, you'll have to live with it even though it wouldn't be your fault.
In other words, it might be better if he rides to school on his skateboard without your knowledge......catch my drift?
