It's not worth hundreds of dollars in fines and penalties going to court causing your insurance to go up or your parents. They wouldn't be happy.I don't think your allowed to drive alone right now plus you just don't know the dangers on the road so it wouldn't be a good idea to be alone. I think you only think you can handle it but your not ready for the road yet and neither are most seniors. There really is a lot to driving than just pointing the car and stepping on the gas and things you do now you'll wonder why you didn't get into an accident and not so much ending getting killed but worse is being an invalid for life in a hospital bed having your diapers changed for you and eventually all of your friends will stop coming over to visit you by the time your 20.
Call the MOT to find out if your still not sure.
I thought I'd just add this I didn't realize you said N.Y. forget it wait till your dad says son here I hope I'm right but I think you earned it now here's the keys be careful and wear your seat belts no speeding no drinking and respect his wishes if you break he may never let you drive again he also doesn't want to be responsible for turning you into an invalid all because you bugged him to go on a one way ticket to the hospital.
