Listen: you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Good luck and stick at it.

Sure it can! Good for you! Remember to go every day, give yourself one "free day" where you don't walk at all. Remember that your body starts to burn fat after 20 minutes, so the more you can walk after 20 minutes the more you will burn. You will want to gradually add 5 minutes onto your walk until you're walking a half hour and then turning around and coming back (if you're outdoors of course!) The longer you walk the better.
Remember for any weight loss, that food plays a big part in it too. Limit these foods and cut your dinner portions in half and you'll see a big dif: cheeses, sodas, sweet treats, fast foods, fried foods. Only have sweets one or two days a week and really cut back on those foods.

Yes, it is one of the things that you can do to lose weight. A brisk 30-minute walk every day will definitely help tone your body and give you a decent cardio workout. 45-minutes will be even better.
In addition to the walk, cut out the fatty foods, eat more vegetables and drink ice water. In my case, I cut back on lunch but eat a normal breakfast and dinner. I lost a pound a week for three months.
It works. Try it and work toward a modest goal of losing a pound or two per week. Good luck!

If you are walking at a pace to work up a decent sweat then yes but must eat healthy too-if you can do walk 1hr-much better time and you'll see a difference much sooner. Unless you change eating style that had you gain weight in the first place you can walk hrs and not make much progress. Go see a Dietitian-Nutritionist to get a healthy eating plan -approx 50.dollars but money well spent.

I have to work out 7 hours a week to lose weight. Walking 30 minutes a day is a commendable way to maintain optimal health and maintain your current weight.

Definitely. Walking is great exercise. Of course, this may sound obvious, but you'll only lose weight if you burn more calories that you consume each day. So combine your walking routine with a healthy diet, and you'll be on your way!

It depends.
If you are burning more calories than you eat then yes.
It doesn't matter how much you exercise, unless you burn more than you eat, you will gain weight, unless you have a very high metabolism.
If you're going to walk make sure it is at a pace that works you, not just a leisurely stroll, although anything is better than nothing.

There is a semi-popular diet out there that supports this type of exercise. It's called the Step-Diet. The diet consists of you simply walking more and eating a little less. One of the major benefits of the diet is that you can eat whatever you want, just less of it. Check a Barnes & Noble for a copy of the book. I lost 10 pounds and ate basically whatever I wanted just a littel less of it. It does work.
