Stuff her in a bag, and drop her over an overpass into a river. Oops, sorry. A level will help if your frame will hold it. But, walls and ceilings are never square. You're better off eye-balling it. Oh, and ask your Wife if it's straight. She WILL tell you. :0)

You can use a level. Also double sided tape can help hold the picture level if there is no way to adjust and balance the way it is attached to the hanging method.

Can you hang my mother-in-law also.............. Just kidding! Yes you most certainly can use a level for a big picture or a small picture but if it is a big picture a stud finder is a good idea also.

yes you can use a level but you also may want to have 2 or 3 hanging points on the wall to hang the pic on then adjust(presuming your using a wire across the back of the pic to hang it)
