The vitamin C is helpfull in absorption of iron in the body,so its always suggested to take citrus fruits along with main meals to help iron absorption.on the other hand milk hampers iron absorption and should never be taken near or after main meals.

Yes its vitamin C that helps iron get absorbed but it blocks the absorption of calcium.

Simple! just drink a glass of o. j. and a head of broccoli and you will see your iron absorption in your system. Anytime that you want vitamins to be absorbed by your body take liquid form of vitamin c; not supplement, please!

know the things that impend iron absorption like phosphate, oxalate, phytate, dairy products & tannin while those that enhance iron absorption are vitamin C ,meat & cystin...wish you a good health
