Well, I can’t tell you how I found Jesus; for I am an atheist, but I will tell you hoe I strayed away. I do not mean this offensively as you do. I do not try to convince you that he does not exist, but only share my views to give a different view on the subject.
I once blindly followed what my parent’s teachings were. It was not until I went through rough times that I questioned my beliefs. My parents had taught me the bible but had allowed for me not to be dominated by it (as in taught it in a manner as to lead me to hating it). I still respect the bible and its teachings. It is a very important story. It will help people be lead to good morals (but is not the center of them). When I did question it though, I did so over a period of three years. I saw stories such as Noas arc. These stories are physically impossible. To get two of every species onto a boat (especially crafted by hand), the boat would need to be three miles wide and four stories tall. Made out of materials capable of holding excess of 100,000,000 tons. This told me that the bible is not an exact history, or even possibly exact. I learned of the history of the bible and saw the adaptations that had spawned off of it. I saw that the people who "believed in it" didn’t even follow the Ten Commandments. I was told that every living being served a purposed I found some that did not. Such as the underground worms that are likely to never interact with another species outside of their own. (I am not talking about earthworms).
I deducted that the idea of a god was probably created because of evolution. Those who believed that a god or higher power existed were more likely to reproduce for religion brings people together.
I got arguments such as if god doesn’t exist then how did the universe get here. I answered them with who created god. And if he was able to always exist than how then can that be proof that god exists.
I was asked why I couldn’t disprove god, I answered because you cannot disprove something that does not exist.
I was asked under the odds of the earth getting here how could we then be here. My answer was that if we were not we wouldn’t be asking that.
That is how I lost my faith, and gained a non-faith

It wasn't all of a sudden, it was over time. I grew up being taken to church, and I believed that Jesus was the son of God, who died on a cross and rose again, but that's all I knew, really. Fast forward about thirty years. I had not been going to church most of my adult life. Then someone brought me to a good bible teaching church and I began to listen. I started going to bible study. That was ten years ago.
One day I was walking around the lake that is in the middle of my apartment complex, thinking about Jesus, you know, all the things I learned about Him studying the bible. And I realized that I knew Him. That I recognized Him from very long ago. When I was little, the house I grew up in was full of people who didn't like each other very much. I remember being very sad and very alone, but there was a presence with me. So many years later, I recognized that presence was the person I had been reading about in my adult years: Jesus Christ.
And I'm still learning about Him, every day. It's been a beautiful adventure, and I'm very grateful that He brought me from that place of sadness to the place where I live now: in His peaceful, loving care.

....even an atheist can understand?
What, do you think us atheists never found jeezus? Let me tell you something -- when I was a child, I went to church and I took jeezus into my heart and I prayed and celebrated and all of that hullabaloo.
Guess what? I felt nothing. Nothing happened. In fact, nothing changed at all. And I truly believed. Then, it gave me anxiety because I thought that maybe I did something wrong because everyone was saying how much their lives had changed and I was there wondering WTF(??!).
I'm sure there are people out there that are stupid enough to get caught up in the festivities but in the end, nothing has changed. But for those that are easily swayed, they're walking through life with a false sense of security, not taking responsibility for any of their actions as it's the "will of god".

It was the most rewarding and beautiful experience of my life. I cried on my knees with happiness. Inside I felt peace within my heart. I felt that my life was finally worth something as I had been failing at every level of my life. I would see how some of prayers were answered when in fact I was not worthy of them to be answered.

first you need to find a bible preaching church. it is something you need to experience for yourself. god has changed my life so much. it is so much better. he delivered me from drugs and drinking. he gave me a wonderful man. i know these things came from him because i couldn't have done these on my own. i tried. satan still will mess with you. but when you know god and read the bible you know the difference. buy a english version bible and read it. when you read the bible, read it slow. you don't have to tell anyone that you are reading it.before you open it say ok god i am going to read the bible now and you let me know if you are real. i use to hid one under my matteress and read it when i was alone. it is really a wonderful feeling. i hope you give it a try. i am so happy i did. i am not a bible preaching person. people don't like it when you force something on them. god bless you and i will pray for you.

It was great! And my front yard looks wonderful! I knew I found Jesus when he showed up to landscape my yard. He said " Hola, I am Jesus, I will make your yard a paradise". He then proceeded to introduce is wife... Maria. She is a great cook! She brings me tamales now and again.
Jesus and Maria have really made me a happy man.

When I found Jesus he was standing with friends outside of the Home Depot. I offered him $20 a day to help me remodel my house, and he came along in the back of my pickup truck. My only certainty that it was him ws that he answered to the name when called.

I was moving out of my apartment, and when I pulled the couch away from the wall, there Jesus was. I guess my roommate lost him back there and forgot about him. I washed him off, and now he's good as new.
