I'm Australian - mature aged male, married with family

Can you tell me under what conditions I'd have a fair chance of getting a Green Card to live in the United States??

Thank you.

Your best chance is going to be with a work or professional visa, depending on what it is you do for a living. You could apply for one "cold", but I would highly recommend trying to secure employment in the US first, and having them sponsor your immigration.

Good Luck!!

I would imagine that if you planned to relocate for work, that would certainly help. I would also reccomend contacting the US Embassy. I think that due to your Australian citizenship, you stand a better chance than people from other countries.... Good luck to you.

Under your situation, I would suggest getting a company to sponsor an H1 work visa for you. Your family members can "piggy-back" on your visa.

You should contact the US Embassy. They'll let you know your chances.
