3 months is a REALLY long gestation for a dog, 9 weeks is typical, with a normal range of 60-66 days... Or are you asking about heat? Heat cycles in adult dogs average 6 months, but can be 4-12 months in some cases. It usually lasts 3-4 weeks but can vary and the actual time the dog is receptive to a male is much shorter (generally less than a week)

Gestation is when they are pregnant, and that lasts about 9 weeks.
Are you thinking heat cycles? If so, it can vary from female to female. Most dogs have them about every 7 months, and they last for about 3 weeks. The first week coming into heat, the second is in heat, and the third is coming out of heat.

I agree with Tashasmygirl. Some dogs only cycle once each year but most are about 6 or 7 months apart. You have to be careful for about a month to avoid a pregnancy because the have a habit of being in heat just before you think they will and just a little longer than you expected. Watch her for signs of a behavior change either getting unusually playful and puppyish or grumpy or suddenly quiet and avoiding things she usually likes. Watch for male dogs hanging around your property too.
