Possibly. I think it all depends on any further military action.... which would = the draft reinstated.

Some believe we already have the draft with the military forcing soldiers to stay past their termination dates.

I do not know if they will re-instate the military draft ....but if they do ever decide to do that I hope a democrat is in office when that happens.... it might actually happen under a democrats presidency .....we all know how week they are on defense and national security.... they might have too re-instate the draft just too make up for all the military cuts that took place during the Clinton administration!

Sounds like a good idea.

No matter how you look at it, America needs a permanent military force of at lease 2% of the population; a four to five million person military force will make us strong enough so that no one except some odd-ball will think of attacking us.

We cannot depend on our two oceans to save us any more, they can be crossed in a few hours. We cannot wait the two to five days it takes to get National Guards and Reserves from their homes to their camps. We need to be ready NOW.

A large military will also require a large supporting force of civilian industry. That means employment and a large number of military bases, airfields and sea ports means a better distribution of money and a revived economy.

Doggone it, I hate that this draft question keeps getting asked over and over again.

No, we will not reinstate the Draft! We like our voluntee military. If we drated an extra million privates, where'd we grow the leaders to lead them? We don't grow on trees you know.

Draftee armies aren't nearly as effective as volunteer ones.

I don't know. A draft would spell the beginning of the end of this war. We'd start holding our leaders accountable and Congress would begin asking questions about the administration's policies.
Bush and his junta knows this.

It's not possible. I'm in the Army and half of the people in the voluntary Army don't even want to be here. What do you think will happen if you add more disgruntled people? Plus the government won't even attempt this strategy, it would be outragous. Also our economy would go to shambles, have you seen one of our paychecks??

Only if we are attacked by a world power like China or Russia, and then it will probably be nuclear and all the troops in the world will be of no use. So probably not!

No. Drafting middle-class white kids is a good way to end your political career.

Hey, hey LBJ, how many kids you kill today.

Remember that one from the history books?

Why is everyone so worried about the draft? It's not going to happen. Not ever.

For the one millionth time, NO!!!!!!!!!! There are enough volunteers but to be on the safe side, maybe you should move to Canada or France, just in case. We don't need you anyways.
