Yup all the time. The radio in our kitchen hardly ever gets shut off in our house. We leave it on FRED. Not sure if the animals like it or not, but im sure they have become acustomed to it.

I no longer have a dog,but used to leave the radio on for him before I started driving a truck..,cant have pets with the company I work for,but I used to leave it on a talk radio station so he could hear people talking and it wouldnt make him feel alone. It worked fairly well for him.

I usually leave the radio on for my dogs when I go out, they like to listen to country........hehehe Sometimes we leave the T.V. on for them instead and we usually just leave it on a station that we normally watch when home. Can't leave it on Animal Planet or else they'd bark at all the animals on the T.V. while we're gone and the neighbours would complain (since we live in an apt.)

Leaving on the radio and or t.v. is a really cool thing to do for your pet. Prolonged silence can give them anxiety problems.
My dog was a well rounded dog who listened to a variety of music from heavy metal to rap to classical. She was cool with what ever was on.

I live the tv on, normally animal planet, unless we have dvr due to tape something, then switches channels. On our tv we have siruis radio sometimes they get to listen to that, normally put it on classical, I had read that type of music keeps dogs calmer, do not know if that is true. If I turn the actual stereo on, we might get alot of rain, knocks satellite out sometimes, that kind of noise freaks the dogs out; so I will turn on radio, that way it keeps them calmer. If its on the radio, our local rock station.

Classical music is very soothing to animals. Music or even TV can make your animal not feel so lonely while you have to work. At the Animal shelter that I manage I play classical music for them all day and a quieter version of classical music at night. The animals, yes even the fierce aggressive ones, seem more calm.

Interesting thought! When I used to work outside the home I'd occasionally put on a special "Cat" video that had pictures of mice and birds - don't know where that video went, however.
