For officer material it takes college credits to get in. If you are through a trade school you might have to go through regular boot camp. Ask a recruiter. Good Luck!

Rotc in a University and a BA is the requirement to become an officer outside an all out war. BA is a requirement Warrant officers with certain skills etc. are two year AA's.

Does not matter what the degree is if you have ROTC while finishing the degree and are accepted into the military. Competition into any specialized program e.g. Officers Candidate school is very competitive usually requires prior service time along with recommendations of your commanders etc.

There are many many people who enter the military with degrees who can only become enlisted the key is ROTC completion while achieving your degree also.

Your profession doesn't make you "officer material," your values and skills count, but leadership isn't in Cliff's Notes.
Enlisted servicemen and women with high skills can do very well in the military, often become Warrant Officers with many officer benefits.
A "field medic" in the navy has to go through Marine Corps boot camp, and has a lot of medical knowledge.
A Registered Nurse will be an officer if accepted by the military, the various assisting skills would be welcome in the medical corps of each service.
Good luck.

For the Army, the educational requirements are: They must have a minimum of 90 nonduplicate semester hours of college. Minimum educational requirements cannot be waived. It is highly recommended that the 90 credit hours are in a degree producing program.
