You should only get one, and you must, absolutely must be the first thing it sees when it hatches. That way it will think you are its mother. Let me know if you need a good recipe for duck sauce after it grows up!

I am not sure what you're asking. However, I have to say that I think ducks are absolutely adorable! I want ducks really bad. They're so cute when the momma is walking, and the baby chicks are following her single file.. awwwwww.. Duckies rule!

If you are going to get a duck, I would suggest you buy a pair. I have 3 pet ducks.

If you stay with them long enough and bond with them and take them outside when it is warm enough, they should follow you. (If they are a duckling.)

Remember to keep them away from hawks, racoons, cats, dogs, and crows. These are their main enemies.

I think ducks as a pet is a great idea.

I have peking ducks and just so you know...I hope you aren't thinking of keeping them in your house. They sh*t like every 2 mins and they smell like a farm animal.
If you have the land for a duck, get more than one because you can't be outside all the time to occupy this animals time. Not to mention you aren't going to want to be outside in the winter playing with this duck in the snow..and yes they do that. I have 3 peking ducks and it'll be snowing like mad crazy out and they are out in it playing.
I got mine when they were just hatched and had to keep them in the house in a box until they were big enough to go outside. During the day I would keep them on my deck with food and water and in the evening I would bring them in the house in the box. They STINK! When they are smaller animals will run off with them and kill them. Cats, raccoons, dogs...etc.
They are cute and sweet and beauuutifull but it's work getting them fully grown unless you have some kind of enclosure, like a chickenwire type cage to keep them in.
Just so you know though, when you get more than one..they will flock and after that they'll not really want much to do with you. They won't be cuddly or anything anymore after that flock instinct takes over. But they'll still come up to you for food and stuff. Mine do. They'll walk right up to us and eat. They come running when I call them but they won't let me pick them up unless I chase them and grab them.

Get two. They will both bond with you and follow you around, but will also bond with each other and keep each other company when you're gone.

I've had up to six and they all came running whenever I'd call.

Make sure you learn about their housing, bedding, and food from whoever you get them from.

Oh boy! I've had ducks and geese. Yeah its cool when they "bond" with you but I think it is a bad idea if you dont have a pond. They need LOTS of water.
