Both my children were born vaginally. With my first pregnancy they gave me an enema, I suppose to prevent this from happening. With my second I was dilated 8 when I got to the hospital and they didn't have time to give me one, but fortunately this didn't happen to me. I was worried about it though, because when my cousin had her first (she had her babies before me) she said that it happened to her. I believe it is normal because of all of the pushing and straining that is involved. It is probably a little embarrassing, but I guarantee that it is nothing that the docs and nurses haven't seen before. Don't worry yourself about it, as long as you and the baby are alright, that is all that truly matters!!!

i gave birth vaginally i how ever did not poo but before i gave birth the doctor said that it was normal its because you are using so many of the same muscles to push the baby out that you do to poop and that about 50 to 60 % do when they give birth

I didn't have vaginal delivery - but I worked with a woman who did and she was told that it is very normal. If you have a short labor you might not have time to empty your bowels (they don't let you eat during labor) and it would happen. Doctors understand and the nurses clean it up.

It is completely normal. I remember when I was in labor and they were telling me to push...I was screaming if I push I am going to pee everywhere. It is a totally common thing. The baby is pushing on your bowel and if it isn't empty before coming it well then it will be. But it isn't a big deal because they get it out of there so quick it isn't even funny. And you don't remember or even know your doing it.

It is entirely normal. In the classes I took for preparing for labour his was mentioned by the nurse. Where I live it is routine to give women in labour an enema and then only go into the dilation room after having gone to the bathroom after iut has taken effect.

At my ante natal class the midwife said that most women do but a lot don't realise because the nurses just scoop it away with a cloth. So very normal

It's very normal to do that. I did it when I had my child. In the olden days they gave you an enema before you started full labour so that it didnt happen. they also shaved your pubic hair... hahah.. . Now they are more 'mother friendly' and let nature take its course.
