As with everything in FCP, there are several ways to do this. The following are some different ways to enlarge the physical size of the clip.
Double click your clip in the timeline, and then click on the motion tab in the viewer. Under Basic Motion, slide the Scale slider from left to right or enter a value.
Double click your clip in the timeline, then make sure the Video tab is selected. Click on the third pull down menu within the Viewer, and select image with wireframe, or just wireframe. Click and drag the corners of the image to resize.
Move the playhead in the timeline to the clip that you want to resize. Do the same as mentioned above, but with the Canvas to reveal the wireframe and adjust withing the Canvas.
If you have Final Cut Studio, and you want to do more than just resize, then control-click on your clip in the timeline, and select
Send to Motion and edit your clips size and movement in Motion.

the only way you can make a clip logner is to slow it down that is in the efects panel, if you want to zoom in jsut use the tiny little slider thing at the bottom of the timeline
