There isn't an easy way to get a "free" credit SCORE. You can get a credit REPORT for free.. but a report is just that, a report and doesn't give you the FICO score. That's the whole "catch" with that free credit report that everyone is entitled to each year... yep, you get the REPORT, but you have to pay extra for the "score".

You can't get your CREDIT SCORE for FREE.

You can, however, get your credit REPORT FREE per the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Most agencies will charge you about $10.00 for the credit SCORE along with the credit report for each bureau. The bureaus are NOT required by federal law to provide you with a credit SCORE for FREE and that is why you are having difficulties finding something for nothing.

You might try www.experian.com for the $10.00 fee for their credit score.

as far as i know you go to annualcreditreport.com to get a copy of your credit report, but it doesn't include your score. You have to pay for your score. However, if you apply for a mortgage and are turned down, you can get your score for free.

Congress passed a law a few years ago, you're now entitled to one free report from each agency each year. I believe the site is annualfreecreditreport.com
