1. Conditioner for oily hair Maureen McLain
I have naturally oily, straight hair and I used a shampoo with conditioner and then applied a leave-in conditoner to prevent static. It worked! I used mousse and a bit of hair spray and was static-free almost all day.

2. static.... eHow Friend
i get static hair all the time...for short releif of it, use a dryer sheet. i dont know what it is that helps but it does! don't use it for very long though.

3. Moisturizer for hair Rebecca Featherston
Several years ago I was introduced to SEBASTION Potion #9. This is a leave in hair moisturizer, not a conditioner. It's used in place of, after you shampoo. Use it regularly throughout the winter months and you will notice a difference!

. Winter hair rejuvination Rebecca Featherston
Get your hairstylist to color your hair with REDKIN SHADES...this is a conditioning, non-peroxide color wash, you can brighten your hair color by using the shades and mixing with clear to tone down to an acceptable level for your taste. This is a great treatment for the wintertime, it brightens your hair, and deep conditions it at the same time. You'll be hooked after one treatment!

5. Fly Away Hair Elaine Howard
If you are having trouble with fly away hair try this. Rinse hair, after shampooing, every now and then with a good liquid clothes conditioner. It greatly cuts down the static in your hair.

6. Surefire Success M. Thos
Keep your hat on till spring, maybe early summer.

7. To Fight Static... Ashley Modlin
I have super long (3 1/2 ft. from crown to tips), super thin, super straight hair and static in the winter is a nightmare for me. I have learned 3 good ways of combating it however. #1 Keep a trial size bottle of a leave in spray conditioner with you at all times (you can buy these in drug stores for pennies). #2 Run a dryer sheet over your hair. #3 Spray something like Static Guard over your hair (this may stink but it's effective).

8. Smooth Hair eHow Friend
My stylist told me that when you rinse out your conditioner, you should use colder water. When you look at a piece of hair under a microscope, it looks like the shingles of a roof. When you use colder water to rinse out your conditioner, it closes those "shingles" and makes your hair smoother.

9. Better hair eHow Friend
Before showering, I comb my hair one last time. This helps to distribute the natural oils in your hair. When in the shower, I usually comb my conditioner into my hair paying special attention to the tips because this is where your hair has less moisture. When I'm done I usually blast cold water onto my hair. This helps with keeping the hair moisturized since it closes the hair shaft and it makes your hair extremely shiny.

Use a good shampoo/conditioner (I use Tressemme) then some kind of moisterizing heat product... I introduced L'Oreal Studioline Hot Straight (Heat-Activated Straightening Cream) to my mom and my best friend and now they're both addicted to it (they always steal my bottles)... also, Sunsilk Hyrda-TLC and their version of Straightening whatever works well. Another one I like to use after I blowdry/straighten my hair is Garnier products like smoothing milk.

Also, use a ceramic straightener, Conair is really good if you're looking for something cheaper but they can break (but I do a lot of traveling)... if you want to splurge a tiny bit you can get I believe it's called a Jilbere (??) straightening iron for about $40-$60 depending on what style you get.

Anyways, try a curly style someday too with some volume :) or even just try blowdrying it straight by starting with your head upright blowing straight down on your part/top of your head before flipping over and finishing the rest. Hair looks better with some volume and bounce rather than straight straight...

and healthier.

enjoy!

How long have you been natural? Natural hair is beautiful but it takes time to learn it. You have to build a regimen that works for your tresses and it takes time. You said you want it to flow and bounce. I assume you mean when it is straightened. It also takes time to "train" natural hair for the straightening process. Get a humidity blocker and or use a good serum. When I straighten my natural clients they usually opt for the Silk Infusion process. They come in and have it done every 2 weeks and when they return, their hair looks just like the day I did it only a little dirty.. lol I shampoo their hair with a sulfate free shampoo, they then receive steam hydration using silicon mix. A steamer is awesome for all hair types ESPECIALLY naturals. Google it! Their hair is then rinsed and I apply a conditioning rinse to detangle. After that, I blowdry and straighten with a titanium iron and then wrap their hair with saran wrap and place under the dryer for 5 minutes to silk them out. The only product I use during the styling phase is Chi silk infusion. But I'm willing to give more tips if I knew more about your current regimen HTH

Choose salon quality shampoo and conditioner. Do a weekly deep conditioning treatment. You can do them at home just put a hair cap, even saranwrap and leave it in as long as you can. Min 15 minutes.

if ur hair is damaged, or even if it isnt doing a deep conditioning treatment once and a while is good. also Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is what i put in my hair when its wet and this helps to prevent heat damage.

i agree wth using the paul mitchell super skinny line. i have the shampoo, conditioner and serum and love them. i usually use a little glossing gel, work that in , then follow with the serum. i then can blow dry and not worry about frylating my hair.

Go to your stylist and get it deep conditioned. S/he may also recommend an at home deep conditioner. I've also heard of putting avacado on your hair.
