Another thing is that my feet get really hot when I play, like they burn. I put athlete's foot spray on and I just ordered some new basketball shoes but are these blisters normal and how to I keep them safe so I can play through the pain?

Hey Silverice,

This happens to all of us. When running up and down the court your feet will sweat and slide against your shoes developing blisters. Try sprinkling some baby powder or cornstarch in your shoes to help absorb some of the moisture. After you play everyday you will build up calluses and the pain will go away. .

Until then there are some new cool Band-Aid products to help get you through the pain. Try “Band Aid Med Blister Relief Bandaids”: Description Heals faster than with an ordinary bandage. Instant pain relief. Sterilized for safe use on open blisters. Cushioning gel pad relieves pain while protecting the blister. Waterproof, superior adhesive stays in place for multi-day use. Flexible form conforms to skin for greater fit and comfort. Seals out water, dirt, and germs that can cause infection. Wrap-around design made especially for fingers and toes! Bandages measure

You can also try using “Band-Aid Blister Block Cushions” to prevent new blisters. Good luck

You need better shoes for one thing. You need shoes that give good air circulation in the shoe. The build up of moisture makes it easier to get blisters. Also if your shoe doesn't fit right, it will be more prone to cause blisters. My dad said one thing that he did in the Air Force was to wear double socks. I think having the second pair of socks allows the sock to somewhat slide instead of your foot taking the friction.

You'll also be more prone to getting blisters if you haven't ran regularly in a while.

They're normal, especially if you just recently started.
Don't let them pop, because they'll hurt so much worse if you do. Wear an extra pair of socks until they go away, it should be less than a week.
