I have two pom's and the male dog has always ate the others poop. I try to stop him but he continues to run directly over to where the other dog pooped and eat faster than I can get to it. He has even eaten his own poop. I know its nasty, and the other dog doesnt eat poop, so I know its just him. I want to stop this because one its nasty and two his breath literally smells like crap! Help!

My vet recommended I sprinkle Adolf's Meat Tenderizer on the dog food. This is tasteless. Something in it makes the poop taste really bad. Also I have 2 dogs so I would put Adolf's Meat Tenderizer on both dogs food. And make sure it's the brand Adolf's, my vet said the others don't work as well.

Well first of all thanks for making me laugh, sorry. My dog has eaten poop too and it is very disgusting. It is natural for a being to crave what it's body lacks. I would suggest a vitamin supplement and/or change in diet to address what might be lacking.
Please also remember that animals do not have the same uptight hangups humans do, I see my many animals doing some very disgusting things like licking eachother's butts, etc. but we have to remember that animals have instincts and people have fears, so try not to let it freak you out too much, yea it's gross, but they are natural creatures. Hey, some people eat bugs, and tongues, and even other people. Best of luck:)

There is a product called For-Bid carried by most vets that you can put in the dog's food that will usually help decrease the bad habit.

Belch. My dog did that, and somehow he got worms. There are some treatments for that, like medicine or training, but you should decide. If you decide medicine, talk to a vet first,to see wich medicine is best for your dog.

The only sure way is to go clean it up when they leave it. Otherwise they will not stop. It is their nature to eat it.
