Well, I don't have much experience with marijuana, but I have smoked it a couple times, but I have plenty of experience with alcohol. I say alcohol is worse by far. Alcohol is hard on your liver, heart, and brain while pot is hard on your lungs and brain, but isn't nearly as hard on the brain as alcohol. Alcohol is physically addicting, while weed isn't, it is only physiologically addicting to some people. Alcohol causes so many more deaths than pot and that is reason alone for alcohol to be worse. You can't overdose on pot, but you can when drinking alcohol. There are few if any car crashes related solely to pot, while many are because of drinking. A room full of people drinking is infinitely more likely to have a fight than a room full of people smoking pot. Alcohol kills more brain cells than marijuana. Marijuana smoking has been linked to causing lung cancer, while I don't know of any studies that link alcohol to cancer, so that is more of a risk in that area, alcohol does have its share of diseases attributed to it though, but none are as bad as cancer. Marijuana is illegal in most areas though, so as far as the law is concerned, pot is somewhat more dangerous. However, you can be arrested for drinking too much in public, or many other laws not directly made to regulate alcohol, but are used on drunk people often, such as disturbing the peace. Alcohol also makes your blood thinner, so you bleed more if you are hurt while drinking than smoking.

After answering this, I wonder why I drink as opposed to smoking pot, but I shouldn't do either anyway.

Alcohol for sure. And isn't there anyone out there who thinks pot should be decriminalized? If they did, they could heavily tax it like cigarettes and alcohol and use the money to fight the real drugs out there like meth and coke and crack or whatever they call it nowadays. The gov't is really missing the boat here. I agree with the poster who says you don't hear of people who smoke then have accidents like you do with drunk drivers.!

pot because the law and the consequences like not being able to pass drug tests which are mandatory for employment and other things in society, alcohol cause this is a highly abused substance that causes alot more damage to the body and violence in the community ,heavy machinery and car accidents and deaths and rehabs a revolving door

Well this is what someone once told me(college professor). You get 10-20 people in a room who is drunk(alcohol only), then you get 10-20 people in another room who is smoking pot(stoned only). Who is going to end up in a fight, more than likely?

My guess and experience would be the drunkards.

I think alcohol is worse. That's just my opinion. If the US puts a tax on marijuana and legalized it, we would be out of debt. I think that reason alone should be reason to legalize it (its an atuomatic plus in my book) as long as restrictions are set, whats the problem? Most people have at least tried it anyway.

I think both are terrible, and you shouldnt be doing them anyway. But if i was faced with the choice, i would choose beer, because pot is just retarted. I look at the kids in my school who smoke pot, and their a bunch of slow idiots.

alcohol doesn't necessarily affect your brain, where as pot does. SO pot is worse.

However, neither is recommended in high amounts.
