i am trying to lose weight/get fit. I am running 4 times a week for 30 minutes, and i am going to build on that. I want to start lifting weights also.

I have no experience with this, so i really need help!
I have weights, they are 5, 10, and 20 pounds.

10 points to anyone who can tell me...

*how to lift
*a schedule
*what areas to work on

in an easy, understandable way...

thanks!

OK, don't worry, I am a sportsman for around 13 years now, and have a lot of experience in fitness.
It's great that you are already running, and you should know that the best time to run for losing weight is when you wake up or after the weights training. That's because at these times energy from food that you ate is all spent and your body uses energy from fat.
It will be good to use weights to do step-outs and squats while holding them in your hands. Do 15-20 reps per serie and around 5-6 series per exercise. You can also do some chest training. Lei down on a bench and do basic bench-press. You can do it with a single-handed weights too. And there is always a biceps excersise - stand up, take weights, put your arms alongside your body and then lift your hands by bending your arms in your elbows. And you can always do some abdominal training. That is as simple as it gets. Lie down, attach your feet at something (bed, table,...) and pull your torso up, then get it down again. Repeat it for 20-30 times per serie. 3-4 series would do the trick.

It's always nice to help!

If you are lifting a lot of weight you will get bigger from the muscle, and light weights are more of a toner. If you need to lose weight I would recommend losing the weight through a healthy diet and other forms of exercise. And once happy with the weight lift light weights to stay toned.

Exercise: Try running or doing some type of aerobics.
If you like my thought you can email me and I can tell you what my routine to lose weight was.

Be very careful about form, especially when youre lifting weights that feel very heavy and your back isnt supported.
Go to ediets, they have a lot of great tips there, from professionals.
