I have a female friend who I am interested in. I don't know how to initiate physical contact, whenever I do it seems so awkard, like I am going out of my way to touch her..
When I do like tap her belly with a pen, etc, she looks and says "Yes? or what?" Like I did it for a purpose, and I am thinking "Geeze, nothing.. I just wanted to touch you."

If there is one thing I have learned over my years, its that as the man, you need to be aggressive. I don't mean ugly aggressive, but go after what you want. You want to touch her, you want to kiss her? DO IT. If she doesn't want you to, she will let you know. If you spend your time worrying about this and that, the next thing you will find yourself doing is watching her go out with someone else.
When you are at the end of your days, dying in your bed, you will never regret the things you tried and failed... just the things you failed to try.

If it doesn't feel right and your just not connecting then it probable isn't going to work out. Ask your self if it would be worth it to loss a friend. I have to say I've been through this, and I found out that the friendship was much better once the sex was taken out of the equation. Tell her how you feel, but ease in to it don't reveal to much to fast and see what kind of reaction your getting from her. Good luck
