I live in a town of 125,000. A human insect came into my garage last night and cut the cable on my mountain bike and stole it.
Besides pawn shops, where else can I keep an eye out for it
to turn up? I am so infuriated.

I would love to catch someone trying to steal my bike. I feel for you man. It probably was someone you know or an acquaintance. If it was a high end bike, I suggest posting your info on
http://www.pinkbike.com/ They have a forum for stolen bikes. Good luck and I hope you find that POS that stole your bike.

you probably wont if it was a good one. believe it or not, there are chop shops for bikes just like there are for cars. they have a variety of bikes where they mix and match and of course, remove serial no.s. you should report it stolen, usually when 1 has been, others have too. checking pawn shops wouldnt hurt tho.

First decide if it was just a kid trying to get some where. if it is it is probably in a ditch or woods. I dont think people who steal bikes can sell them real well. GL

The same thing happened to me, only two of them were stolen. I feel for you buddy.

Check the local Mtn bike trails or do random searches on E-bay for it.

Look anywhere where they can get quick money for it:

Consignment Sporting Goods store
ebay
craigslist
pawnshop as you mentioned

Good luck

maybe on the side of the road somewhere? unless it is an expensive bike, then you are probably screwed unless you have homeowner's or renter's insurance.
