If your fiance showers every day and uses deodorant, and he still smells, then he probably has the disease Trimethylaminuria, or TMAU for short. You can research this inherited genetic condition online. There are no symptoms of TMAU except for a body odor. The smell caused by TMAU may resemble that of rotting fish, feces, urine, or garbage. Sometimes a sufferer may have a musty smell. The smell can be extremely pungent at times and may be smelled from across the room, even if the sufferer has showered 10 minutes ago and is not particularly sweaty. The smell comes out in sufferers' pores and breath. Some TMAU sufferers have a very strong smell all the time, while in others, the smell is only sometimes strong (for example when they are under stress).
There is no cure for TMAU. The odor caused by TMAU occurs because the sufferer's liver is not able to produce a certain enzyme that is necessary to break down a particular nutrient (the nutrient choline) found in almost all foods.
I would be supportive of your fiance if he practices good hygiene and still smells. He can't help the way he smells and he probably has had bad experiences in the past because of his odor.

Its a matter of hygiene have him shower and brush and watch his diet and try to remove any overpowering herbs or spices . Don't say you stink , it ll just get his back up tell him that you have noticed that he has been working hard lately so run him a bath or shower , He obviously hasn't picked up on it and maybe you need to say that a friend noticed that he was a bit on the nose and that he needs to take a little personal time to stop offending others ,

Tell him that his scent is becoming a little strong. And that your not turned on by his smell. Hopefully he will try and look after either his hygiene and/or after shave, whichever the case may be. But you have to be honest as you don't want to have others, and I'm certain he doesn't either, thinking that he smells also. He may be totally unaware of his odor. Good luck.

Have you tried telling him to shower? If he does and he still smells it has something to do with the soap he is using or even the deodorant. it maynot be working with his body chem. try having him change the soap and deodorant he uses.
my fionce had the same problem for a little while till we changed what he used. he's using 'Speed stick' irish spring. it works great and he also showers with 'softsoap' body wash for men. or if you want to go fancy go to Victoria's secret and get him Sexy for men they have 2 different kinds. it comes with body spray, body wash and after shave. :)

did you mean....your EX-FIANCE smells bad. He won't smell any better after you marry. In fact you'll have the displeasure of smelling him while your trying to sleep. Hope your comfortable on the couch, provided he hasn't farted in it first.

Just let him know, be nice about it, tell him your not trying to be mean but he needs to take a shower or brush his teeth. It will hurt his feelings at first but just let him know your looking out for him and if the tables were turned you would expect him to do the same for you

Talk to him! Communication is a very big part of successful relationships. If you do not feel comfortable talking to him about this, then maybe you shouldn't be together. How are you going to handle other issues if you cannot even talk honestly with him about this issue.

If he smells that bad, why are you engaged to him? Honesty definitey needs to be used here. Clean up or I'm gone, Stinky. Can you say that to him? Or maybe something not quite so mean.
