I would say No they cannot. It is unsafe to even have your hot water setting above 90 my pediatrician always warned. Every *well* visit I went to and even before I left the hospital with my newborn they TOLD us to make sure we had our hot water setting at 90 and no hotter it is very dangerous and unsafe.

Whenever I stay for the weekend/vacation at someones house I always suggest and plead that they sacrafice their hot water for a few days and turn the setting back to 90 for the babies safety. If you are not used to 140 degree water then it is even more dangerous and run a greater risk of scalding your child on accident.

I would think that if it causes non-safe or healthy living conditions, then possibly. However for just a lack of Hot Water seems a little obscure an excuse.

The best advice I or anyone else on Yahoo Answers can give is to seek legal advice as it seems there is more involved with this case then meets the eye.

I would think NO as long as you had a way to warm the water up. How come you don't have hot water? There is assistance you can get if you have a limited income and a child.

No.. they won't take away your child for lack of hot water. You can contact your utility provider for assistance with the costs, if that is your issue. If the issue is with your landlord you can contact the housing department.

they can if you are not giving them baths and stuff, so make sure they are clean, BUT if you already have a case with CPS, and they are just looking for a reason to take your kids, then they can use that as an Excuse to take them.

No, you can live in a tent if you like, they can not take your children away unless you endanger them.

If you keep them clean, clothed, well fed and safe you are fine.

If you have no power, or water and have no way of paying the bill and you refuse to work, they might take them from you. If you can afford to have internet you can afford to pay your water bill.
