i go to school in downtown chicago and ever since i started i've always seen this young girl around the streets and in the train stations asking for money. Its been almost a year that i see this homeless girl around the area that i'm around and , now, she's pregnant! She's walking around with her big belly asking for money or she parks herself in the corner of a block asking for money. Now, i don't know this girl but she's always pretty loud in her conversations with this one older man that she walks with and from what i see and hear, it doesn't seem that she would be a fit mother or even have any way of taking care of this poor child. I want to do something about it but i don't know what! Can i tell the police? Will they take her child and make sure he's well taken care of? i just think about this poor baby crying his/her eyes out becuz their hungry or cold or wet and i burst in tears knowing that that girl won't take care of this child. IS THERE ANYTHING ANYONE CAN DO TO HELP????????

Not really. I am sure she won't have the baby for long. Someone will most definitely call child welfare services once she has the baby. Also, I wouldn't call the police or anything. That's not your place. How do you know she won't give it up for adoption? You have no idea what this woman plans to do. It's super sad... but you should stay out of it unless you actually see this woman, with the baby, and the baby is not being treated properly. Until then, worry about your own life, and hope to God that the baby gets put into a loving home.

Prego at 15!!!!! properly the following is whats gonna ensue, CPS is gonna take that youngster reason they're gonna say your are not from now on able to taking vehicle of that toddler, and once CPS says that, your toddler is lengthy gone seem you get carry of pregant, your moms and dads are going above the decision of duty now, reason commonly they could kick both you and the toddler out, yet truly they're providing you with a loose homestead, AND searching after your toddler, you want to easily close your mouth and be grateful you've people that care that a lot about you, you made a huge MISTAKE, so NO you do not get that proper to "wanna bypass out" (AKA mommy i'm operating away and also you may want to't cease me) i'm telling you that human being prepared to enable you bypass in will finally get uninterested in you reason you basically gonna be a more desirable mouth to feed (because you've not any job AND a toddler) GET IT at the same time, you do not get TO BE a youngster ANYMORE, improve UP, reason honey existence is largely gonna get harder, way harder

Well, you really shouldn't be in other people's business. But now that you are you should try to be her friend and help her out. You also shouldn't automatically assume she can't take care of it: What if she dresses like a homeless person just to try to get money, and is now taking advantage of being pregnant by going around with her big belly hoping people will feel sympathetic and give her a buck or two?

Also. who's to say this man she walks around with doesn't have money to take care of it with? What if he's her husband? You really shouldn't judge people before you get to know them. If you are really concerned though, be her friend and find out what's up, though, again, it's really none of your business.

Maybe do research on your own in finding some kind of pregnancy crisis center that can help her, get a business card with a phone number and address of the place that can help her and kindly give it to her. Good Luck! She would have to take that step in helping herself and her baby. Maybe try to guide her to get help. :) try to be a friend even if she is rude to you in return and give her a card of help. Most planned parenthoods have resources for this type of situation. Maybe contact one and get that info for her to help her that way. You are wonderful for caring. God Bless you-

What a shame that whenever progressive thinking liberals try to get birth control and birth contorl education into the high schools, into TV ads, etc, that the christian right is always there to fight it tooth and nail. About 50% of the pregnancies in this country are accidents. Pathetic.

Try to help the girl. Befriend her, get to know her and her situation then if you are that worried you have more info to go on and can go to Child Protection Services.

If she is an adult there is not much that can be done to force her to accept help, If she is putting herself or her baby in a dangerous situation I would guess that the department of social services in Chicago would have to intervene. Here is a site that may give more info about helping the homeless.

Maybe you can seriously ask her if she wants to give her baby away and if she says yes then you can go through whatever it might take to get it. Try saying that you could give the baby a better life which im guessing you probably can from what you wrote. GOOD LUCK

You can contact child protective services. I think I would be just as upset as you if I saw this girl everyday.

You could call CPS and see what they say. It is completely possible also, that she is not pregnant at all. She may just be pretending to be pregnant in order to get more money.
