It is probably meconium-pup had a bowl movement in utero. This can cause pneumonia is human babies, so I'd call the vet just to be sure.

It is pretty common, so don't worry as long as the puppy is breathing fine and nursing fine. Do take your dog & pups to the vet though for a good check up though within 24- 48 hours of birth.

Might be an infection from the mother. If it seems healthy it should be okay. Watch to see if the mother takes care of it. The mother will usually push sick puppies aside and not take care of them. Some dogs have been known to bury or eat there sick young also. Just watch it. You might not want to let your dog have any more puppies though.
