I would suggest you contact the American Cancer Society. They have many support programs. They can also point you to a program specifically for parents whose children have the particular type of cancer your child has. They can help you to cope with and support your child while they are going through their ordeal. The website is http://www.cancer.org I know they helped my parents out tremendously when I was going through my bout with cancer.

I would try typing in like children's cancer support group or something in that direction. Also ask the doc if there is anything they could recommend. As a person who has had cancer and many family members with it you need all the support you can get. Good Luck and God Bless! If you need anything IM me.

Have you looked at the mailing lists at http://www.acor.org ?? Click on the ICON for mailing lists and you will find many cancer related listservs, including quite a few for the parents of children with various cancers. The pediatric cancer list currently has 305 members and additional lists are available for specific cancers like lymphoma or leukemia. The ACOR site is monitored and non commercial. ACOR stands for Association of Cancer Online resources, is not for profit and has been around for a long time.

There should be a web site for the hospital you take your daughter to. Like the childrens hospital of Philly has their own.
You get to make your own link or web page whatever its called. My nephew had AML and while my sister took him back & forth to Philly's childrens hospital she kept everyone else up to date with this web site.
This was the way she communicated with other parents who had children that also had cancer.
Good luck to you and your daughter I'll keep you in my prayers!
What type was she diagnosed with if you don't mind me asking.
***Type in***
"Rare Adult Cancer & Pediatric Cancer Support"
a web site called [Rare Cancer Alliance] should appear-it looks very informative.
***Type in***
"Pediatric Cancer Parent Support Groups"
many different sites come up you'll have to sift throught them & find the one closest to you in you state.
I'll email you through your account here & give you my pesonal email in case you ever need to talk, please know that I'm here. My sister fought a long battle with her son I know its hard but you must remain positive though it all for your daughters sake.

You should be able to talk with your daughter's oncologist about her particular form of cancer. Your oncologist can direct you to other people that you can contact to talk with them about your situation to get counsel, advice, support, etc. Dealing with this alone is not adviseable, which I am sure you know. I hope that they can lead you to some people to help you through this time!

Go to www.acor.org/ped-onc/cfissues/maillist.html . There you will find online support groups. I am a part of the Wilms Tumor group. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I know, first hand, how hard it can be.
