There is no other explanation. Everybody is retarded to some extent, or they would be perfect beings. If there was a God, why would He make people have various levels of intelligence, thus resulting in different beliefs, instead of giving everybody an equal understanding?

Sort of, but not in the way you're describing. The highly intelligent are statistically shown to be LESS religious than the not - so - intellectually - gifted.

That is the stupidest proposition I've ever heard. Just because you or someone down the street is retarded, that does not imply everybody is.

Case of point. Einstein, Newton, Da Vinci. Certainly they were not retarded to any extend. Ergo, by proof of contradiction, the statement that everybody is a retard to some degree is false and illogical.

Understanding =/= level of intelligence.

Your lack of understanding in human behavior and biologica/social evolution is apalling. Human groups have evolved in clusters separated by geographical barriers for periods spanning in the thousands, if not tens of thousands of years.

During that time, each group developed its own social context and core sets of beliefs, including specific beliefs in the nature of the universe, its creation and of what is Divine and what is mortal.

In their forced isolation, each and every group were forced to come up with an understanding of the universe as well as of who they are or were and their context within this plane of existence.

It is until very recently that this ease of communication among the masses is possible, which has brought to MTV masses the fact that there is people out there who believe and think differently independently of their intellect

... a fact not quite obvious to the MTV masses.

You are just trying to make noise without actually having any serious intention of discussing theology and psychology. Otherwise, you would be taking college level courses in any of them, and as a result, you wouldn't be asking such an asinine question on the internet.

...umm...it's usually called culture...your beliefs, manner, even way of speaking is related to where you grew up and who raised you. Since people are seperated geographically they form differant societies and develope their own ways of doing things. THAT'S WHY PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERANT BELIEFS!

Have you ever been to a school?

That could be one reason, along with different levels of gullibility, different levels of reason-ability, different level of self-confidence, etc. , etc.

Intelligence has no bearing on our beliefs.
