Ahh, but of course.

I started swimming at the age of two. I will admitt I was probably closer to three. I even have memories of these days. I can say everything seem much larger in scale being just two years old.

At 2 yrs. old My father was transferred to Pine Bluff Arkansas with Southwesteren Bell Tel.
The house we purchased had a public swimming pool across the street. As I remembered it as a toddler the life guard stand was about 100 ft in the air. I mean really high up there.

At 7 yrs. old we were living in Hot Springs AR. This is where I took my first paid swimming lessons.

At 10 we were relocated back to Pine Bluff AR. I was subsequently there intill I was 17 yrs. old.
At 14 I had a scooters license and found the house we lived at when I was 2 yrs. old. Of course my mother help me with directions.
Here's the interesting part. Everything was as I remembered it just not in the grand scale it appeared to be from a 2 yr. old toddlers eyes. The life guard stand was maybe 5 ft. off the ground.
Wow, things really look big when we are little.

Back too swimming.
In the Boy Scouts I attained my swimming merit badge and skill award. Also attained my life saving merit badge. Aquired my mile swim patch at Camp Quapaw in the Saline River.

Always had a mickey mouse pool in the back yard of some depth.

Did not now that so few people know how to swim. I do. I taught myself on a swimming pool 'cause I knew I could get to one side to the other, close to the wall in case I found myself in trouble, so I did. I was 10 or 11 back then.

Yes, and I love to swim. It's very relaxing and yet empowering. It's a shame that so many American's can't swiim, it makes enjoying the water really hard. Non swimmers fear all kinds of fun activiites like boating, canoeing, etc.

I used to teach swimming. I don't know about the statistics, but I am always shocked when I learn that someone doesn't know how to swim.

Yes, I learned at the age of one at they YMCA. Thank god for good parents. Parents today are much more careless due to the fact that both the Husband and Wife are employed, leaving it to the sitter which eats bon bons and watches Jerry Springer while the kids could be drowning in the pool. Wake up parents, get involved with your children.
