You don't have to have a reason to be homeschooled. Credit has nothing to do with it. You should check state laws to find out what other qualifications there are. I'm sorry about your grandma.

You've got to find out about the laws where you live or will be living. Try finding a homeschool support group for that area to get more details.

And no, you don't need a reason. Homeschooling is a legal choice.

Usually the reason is that your parents hate and fear the other families whose kids you might meet in school and fear that the teachers would say something that would open your eyes to the world in a way that they hoped your eyes would never open.

The rules for home schooling are very loose. Anyone who has the skill to conceive a child is considered fit to be your home school teacher. As long as they supervise you, anyone in your family could be your teacher. On line is as good as any way of getting info and it avoids the cost of getting textbooks.. Credit rating has nothing to do with it. Your mom just has to notify the school district that you will be home schooled.

It depends on the state you are in.

Here are the legal requirements from state to state for homeschooling.

Go to this site and click on your state of residence:

I personally was homeschooled in Michigan... my parents taught me somewhat, I taught myself the rest. It worked for me! It can be harder to "validate" yourself as graduated to colleges, since the transcripts aren't signed & sealed and coming directly from a school, but as long as you are willing to jump through some hoops, and you've taken a college entrance exam, you can generally get in. (At least this is my personal experience).

Good luck!

My parents buy books online and I read them and do the papers on them that come with them. My parents don't have to get involved to much.

your mom needs to go to the superintendent of your school district and withdraw you from school and begin to home school you. this is all that has to be done.
