Did you know that the Roman Catholic Church changed Sabbath around 300 A.D only because they didn't want to worship on the same day as the Jewish people? Jesus or the disciples didn’t change it. If you disagree then share what you know about this change. If I am wrong, even I need to learn, not by guesses, but by proof I can read, prefer a historical reference for proof.

On the Seventh Day of creation in the Book of Genesis, God took His Rest and called that day Holy. Sunday was attributed to the Sun when God said let there be light which even the calendar of today still print it as the first day of the week. In the times of the Pagan Roman, the empire believe in Sun God Helios and so is Constantine. When Rome found out that Christianity is strongly influencing Roman citizens including its soldiers and their numbers are thought to be uncontrollable by force, Rome politically declared Christianity as their official religion but in order to stay away from Jewish traditional influence, they declared Sunday as the day of worship not as Sabbath Day but as Day of the Risen Lord. This Sunday also gave Constantine the opportunity to offer to their ancient God Sun Helios. They did not immediately take away the Sabbath Day as Day to observe but even the whole Europe was able make it a half day work on Saturdays until it slowly diminishes in the practice. Many Christian churches declared Sunday as the day of Obligation or Worship and already erased the word Sabbath in the Ten Commandments. The only church that still observe Saturday as the Sabbath Day is the 7th Day Adventist church. If you need proof that that you can read, history channel have available DVD's on the history of Christianity. Many US libraries have those informations, wikepedia, google, theosophical society libraries could be a good source of more and detailed informations.

Saturday is the weekly Jewish sabbath that Jesus kept, not Sunday.

But what Sabbath do Christians Keep?

It is not a weekly sabbath. Eph 2:13-15; Col 2:13,14, 16; Rom 14:4-6.

Jesus fulfilled the entire Law (which includes the 10 Commandments)

It is the Sabbath refered to at Gen 2:2,3;Nu 14:28-35; Ps. 95:7-11 Heb. 4:8,9; 10:1.

Christians rest from their own works.
(compare Rom 10:3)

This is why Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe they can earn salvation. It is a free gift from Jehovah, based on our faith in His Son.

We enjoy our Sabbath every day of the week.

According to our calender and week system Saturday is the sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week not the last. We have modernized everything to our convienince (so wrong). I am not sure if it works the same with the original calender though. Did you know Jesus Birthday is not in December? It's in the begining of fall, sometime like that.

It really doesn't matter anymore, which day of the week we call Sabbath, as Jesus invisible 1,000 year reign started in 2,000 and he is examining the churches for judgment, (Rev.2,3 1Peter4:17).

The point is the 1,000 year reign is the Sabbath, so it is every day that should be holy.

Luke 17: 20,21 But on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them and said:"The kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness, neither will people be saying, 'See here!' or 'There!' For, look! the kingdom of God is in your midst!!

I know you were asking about the past, sorry I'm not up on it, but I thought I'd share about now.

Praise Jah!!

Hail earth's new King Jesus!!

Welcome his wife, the 'Queen of the Heavens'!!

the Sabbath can be Monday if you wish, the church is a money making organization that must keep you guessing, if you find the truth in their religion you will stop going, Jewish sabbath and christian sabbath can not be the same day, if they were we would shut the world down and who would light the furnace for them

Good for you for wanting the information to back up what people say. The Sabbath is on Saturday. We celebrate it on Sunday because that is when Christ rose from the dead.

You have the information correct. I thought it was around 200 AD, but 300 could be correct.
