Time to find someone else if you're looking for marriage

You can't always know whether or not the person is the right one. I was with a guy for 1 1/2 years and I thought he was the one. Turns out I was totally wrong!!!

Now, I've been with a wonderful man for almost 3 years. We know were meant to be together, but we're not rushing it. We aren't even engaged yet.

i don't know about most people but i know that people don't start showing their true colors until after 2 years of dating. people can put on a face and act differently at the begining of a relationship, just to impress their partner, but later they change. give them the 2 year rule, and they can't hold that face past that. then u will see their true colors and you'll be able to make a more educated decision

I think so after about 10 months you should have a good idea of what this person will be like for the next years of their life. If youre planning to marry this person you should experience different things now to see how they react to situations that are unpleasant. Everyones cool when theyre on top of the world. Ive never been married so you decide if my opinion counts......

I knew within a year that my bf and I were going to get married. We're waiting till we graduate from college, but both my parents and my sis and her husband started dating and were married within a year and a half. I think it's definately possible to know within a year, but not everyone does. To be fair, I also approached dating as spouse interviews so for me as soon as I know that it's not going in that direction it's over. A lot of people don't think like that so it depends on you. Take your time- it's not a decision you want to rush into.

You should know after a couple of months. You're dragging this out. If he isn't marriage material now, he ain't going to be in another year, or two years, etc. Men don't change - ever.

Mind you, I screwed up and waited 3 years to get married - you create baggage for yourself before you're even hitched.

Good luck with breaking up with him!

Definately. I think that sometimes it can happen sooner. But if you feel deep in your heart that you may have to work to make that person marriage material you are putting too much effort into it. It should come naturally.

i think depending on your age and life experiences you can tell within the first year whether your partner is marriage material or not.....if you dont think he is stop wasting your time move on and find someone else more suitable..

It really depends on both partners. If you know, that's great! If you're not sure yet, it's only been a year, you've a lot of time ahead of you to think about it
